Specialized Neurodivergence Evaluations

Finally Understand Yourself — On Your Own Terms

You’ve spent enough of your life feeling like something was wrong with you. You’ve tried harder, worked longer, masked better—only to end up frustrated, misunderstood, and exhausted.

You don’t need another label that tells you you’re broken. You deserve clarity that empowers you to live fully — as who you actually are.

My neurodivergence evaluations are designed specifically for adults who are ready to stop surviving and start creating a life that works with their brains — not against them.

My Neurodivergence Evaluations Include:

  • A thorough, strengths-focused assessment, including in-depth exploration of your history and present circumstances integrated with data collected using the most current, neurodivergence-informed assessment tools.

  • A personalized, professional report you can use to better understand yourself, share with important people in your life, guide future choices, and support requests for treatment and accommodations, if applicable.

    • Clear, individualized recommendations for building a life that fits — not fixes — who you are.

  • A 120-minute feedback session to explain your evaluation results and what they mean for your life going forward.

My focus is not to diagnose “disorders.”

It’s to clarify your truth so you can move through the world as yourself.

Why Adults Choose My Neurodivergence Evaluations:

  • They’ve always felt different, off, or that they were too sensitive, too serious, too quiet, too talkative, too shy, too social, too hyper, too particular, too weird, too much — and nothing they did to “fix” or “improve” themselves ever worked.

  • They were diagnosed with an anxiety or depressive disorder, a bipolar or personality disorder, or OCD, but treatments never made any significant difference.

  • They’ve had excessive difficulty managing their eating, use of alcohol or drugs, spending/shopping, gambling, time online or engaged in other focused activities.

  • They’re drained by all of their everyday obligations and feel that they won’t be able to keep going like this much longer.

  • They have some social support, but aren’t able to identify or ask for what they need — largely because they see their struggles as being their fault.

  • They want answers that empower them — not diagnoses that limit their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions about Evaluations

Q: Does Dr. Jess evaluate people of all ages?

A: Due to her limited availability, Dr. Jess primarily offers specialized neurodivergence evaluations for people over the age of 15. If her schedule permits, she also conducts neurodivergence evaluations for children between the ages of 3 and 15. Evaluating minors involves additional considerations related to parental consent, the child’s level of cooperation with the evaluation process, added measures to be completed by parents &/or teachers, and the potential need for school documentation. If you’re seeking an evaluation for a minor, please request an evaluation consultation, during which Dr. Jess will be happy to discuss how these aspects apply to your child’s situation.

Q: Does Dr. Jess only offer neurodivergence evaluations?

A: Dr. Jess focuses the majority of her time on providing neurodivergence evaluations due to the largely unmet need in this area. However, she has conducted hundreds of comprehensive psychological evaluations for people of all ages and all kinds of concerns. As her schedule permits, she may be able to accommodate requests for evaluations of other diagnoses or issues. Please request an evaluation consultation to learn more about how and when Dr. Jess may be able to support your unique evaluation needs.

Q: Does Dr. Jess offer in-person evaluations?

A: No. All of Dr. Jess’ evaluation services are provided virtually via secure video conferencing.

Q: Does Dr. Jess evaluate people in any state or country?

A: No. Evaluations are regulated psychological services that are limited by Dr. Jess’ professional license in the U.S. state of Michigan and her Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology granted by the PSYPACT Commission. You must be physically located in a PSYPACT-participating U.S. state or territory during each appointment with Dr. Jess. Click here for a current list.

Q: What does an evaluation entail?

A: Dr. Jess will collect detailed information about your history and current circumstances during your evaluation intake session and through a form you’ll complete prior to that appointment. In most cases, you’ll then be sent assessment measures to complete independently. (In very rare circumstances, it may be necessary for Dr. Jess to administer the measures to you remotely in a subsequent appointment.) Based on the results of the measures, you may meet again briefly so Dr. Jess can gather more information. You will then meet with Dr. Jess for the final evaluation appointment, your feedback session, when she will go over your evaluation results and recommendations.

Q: What’s the first step?

A: The evaluation process begins with a brief consultation during which you and Dr. Jess will determine if her evaluation services are a good fit for your diagnostic needs and goals. Click here or on the link above to request a no-cost, 20-minute evaluation consultation with Dr. Jess.

Q: How long does the evaluation process take?

A: From consultation to feedback session, evaluations take an average of 6 to 10 weeks. Evaluation intake appointments are typically scheduled within 2 weeks of consultation appointments. Under normal circumstances, secure links to assessment measures are sent within 1 business day of the intake appointment. You complete the assessment measures at your own pace; once they are completed, Dr. Jess may require a follow-up appointment to gather more information. Otherwise, your feedback session will be scheduled 2 to 3 weeks out.

Q: Can I work with Dr. Jess after the evaluation?

A: If working with Dr. Jess can help you, yes! After completing their evaluations, many clients opt to continue with Dr. Jess’ private coaching services, which are offered at a discounted rate to past evaluation clients. Dr. Jess may offer short-term psychotherapy to further process evaluation results for clients who are likely to experience significant distress, trauma responses, &/or identity upheaval after receiving a diagnosis. Dr. Jess will discuss these options, and other recommendations to optimize your wellness, with you during your feedback session.

Q: How much does a neurodivergence evaluation cost?

A: The standard cost of Dr. Jess’ neurodivergence evaluations is $2,000, which must be paid by credit card or electronic bank transfer prior to scheduling an evaluation intake appointment. Payment plans are available upon request. Additional charges apply for more extensive evaluations. The cost of your evaluation will be confirmed during your free evaluation consultation appointment.

Q: Does Dr. Jess accept insurance?

A: No. Dr. Jess does not bill or accept payment from insurance companies. Some insurance policies include reimbursement benefits for services provided by out-of-network providers. If you intend to request reimbursement for evaluation services, we will provide you the detailed invoice most insurance companies require (known as a “superbill”) after your evaluation is complete. Refunds are not provided in the event of declined reimbursement requests.

Q: If I decide I don’t want to complete the evaluation process after it’s started, will I get a refund?

A: No. Due to the high demand for Dr. Jess’ evaluation services and the significant time allocated for each evaluation, fees are non-refundable.

Q: What if I disagree with the evaluation results?

A: The goal of psychological evaluations is to reach diagnostic conclusions and develop treatment recommendations through the integration of information provided with quantitative and qualitative data from psychological assessment measures. Dr. Jess’ clinical expertise and objectivity are equally important in confirming and ruling out diagnoses. Though the evaluation process is collaborative, agreement with the final impressions is not required or guaranteed. You will have the opportunity to alert Dr. Jess to any factual errors in your evaluation report, which will be corrected. However, disagreement with Dr. Jess’ diagnostic impressions, conclusions, and/or recommendations will not result in corrections or amendments to the evaluation report or refunding of evaluation costs.
