Interstate Couples/Family Psychotherapy

Virtual Sessions Available in 43 U.S. States & Territories

Whether you’re hoping to reconnect after an extended period of distance or estrangement, or you just want to understand each other more clearly, psychotherapy can provide the structure, safety, and support you need to move forward together.

I work with:

  • couples navigating high-stakes emotional disconnection

  • parents and adult children who want to repair or redefine their relationships

  • families members ready to address entrenched patterns and begin healing

Sessions often focus on understanding complex family dynamics, bridging gaps in communication, and addressing long histories of misunderstanding — especially around neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identities, and generational differences.

I’m Dr. Jess, a licensed psychologist with PSYPACT authority to provide telehealth psychotherapy to people in most U.S. states. I specialize in helping families and couples have emotionally honest, clinically supported conversations — especially when differences in communication, identity, or lived experience have caused rupture.

Whether the goal is repair, improvement, or a respectful transition, our sessions will be grounded in mutual respect, intentional understanding, and a shared belief that there is a path forward — even if it’s buried under years of pain, resentment, or silence.

A: Yes. For minors, consent for treatment must be given by one or both parents/legal guardians based on the regulations of your state.

Q: Does Dr. Jess only provide psychotherapy for issues around neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identities, or generational differences?

A: No. Dr. Jess specializes in neurodivergence, but the core of all of her work is bridging the distances

Q: Does Dr. Jess offer in-person psychotherapy sessions?

A: No. All of Dr. Jess’ services are provided virtually via secure video conferencing.

Q: Does Dr. Jess offer psychotherapy to people in any state or country?

A: No. Psychotherapy is a regulated psychological service that is limited by Dr. Jess’ professional license in the U.S. state of Michigan and her Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology granted by the PSYPACT Commission. Q: Can I see Dr. Jess for both individual and couples or family psychotherapy?

A: Generally, no. A spouse, partner, or other family member may occasionally be included in an individual psychotherapy session to support treatment goals. After couples or family psychotherapy concludes, Dr. Jess may offer individual psychotherapy to one member of the former treatment system if clinically appropriate.

Q: Is there a limit of how many family members can participate?

A: No, but for larger groups, Dr. Jess may require 90-minute sessions and suggest session structure or guidelines so each participant’s concerns are addressed. All participants must pre-register prior to their first session.

Q: Does Dr. Jess offer weekend or evening appointments?

A: Yes, though Dr. Jess is in the Eastern time zone, so evening appointments may not accommodate scheduling needs of clients in Pacific or Mountain time zones.

A: For couples and families, one person designated as the payor is responsible for scheduling sessions. Payment is required in order to reserve a session and can be made by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or electronic bank transfer.
